FBOA Year in Review: Business Events, Networking, and Community in Split

Throughout the year, FBOA continued its mission of supporting international professionals and entrepreneurs in Split by creating practical, relevant business events and networking opportunities. Our focus remained on improving the local business environment while enjoying the quality of life that makes Split such an attractive place to live and work.

Over the past year, FBOA organized a diverse program of events designed to address real business topics, encourage professional connections, and foster long-term collaboration among members and guests.

Business Talks and Educational Events

The year began with forward-looking discussions such as Marketing Trends for 2025, offering insights into digital marketing, branding, and emerging strategies relevant to businesses operating in Croatia and across Europe. These sessions were designed to provide actionable knowledge rather than theory, helping attendees apply ideas directly to their work.

Educational events continued throughout the year, covering topics including business risk management, entrepreneurship in Croatia, and industry-specific challenges. Sessions like Your Business Is Fine Until It’s Not focused on legal, financial, and operational realities faced by foreign entrepreneurs, providing clarity and practical guidance.

Panels and Industry-Focused Conversations

FBOA hosted several panel discussions that brought together professionals from different sectors. The Real Estate, Architecture & Properties Panel created space for cross-industry dialogue, offering perspectives from architects, real estate professionals, and investors working in the local market.

Later in the year, Hospitality Insights explored trends and challenges in hospitality and tourism, an important sector in Dalmatia. These conversations helped bridge experience between long-term professionals and newcomers navigating the Croatian business landscape.

Business Breakfasts and Coffee Q&A Sessions

A key part of FBOA’s calendar was its recurring Business Breakfasts, Business Coffees, and Coffee Q&A sessions, held at venues across Split. These events provided an informal but structured environment where members could introduce their businesses, exchange knowledge, and discuss challenges openly.

Topics ranged from technology development in Split and the role of innovation hubs, to practical day-to-day questions about operating a business in Croatia. These smaller-format gatherings encouraged meaningful conversation and helped strengthen professional relationships within the community.

Networking and Community Events

Beyond formal discussions, FBOA also organized social events that emphasized connection and balance. The FBOA Beach Party offered a relaxed setting to network by the sea, while the Christmas Party brought members and guests together to reflect on the year and strengthen community ties.

These events reinforced the idea that professional success and quality of life can coexist, especially in a city like Split.
